I’m visiting Derbyshire with my aunt and uncle. And are you having a pleasant trip? Very pleasant. Tomorrow we go to Matlock. Tomorrow?

I went on a first date that made me feel exactly like this. Instead of worrying about the outcome, I’m just going to enjoy this feeling of finally meeting some that excites me. I have a good feeling about this one and am putting out good energy.

I came across this quote recently on Tik Tok and it really resonated with me on my quest to become more vulnerable. I have gone 26 years rarely opening up, even to people that I consider really close friends. This causes me to feel isolated, as if no one really knows me. My fear is that once I reveal pieces of my true personality, the people in my life will no longer want to stick around and learn more. However, I spend so much time trying to protect myself against the possibility of abandonment that I fail to let people in. This quote reminded me that I cannot control people’s behavior. I may open up and they may leave. But my vulnerability should not be dependent on their reactions. I am strong enough to handle anything that comes my way and I think it’s time to allow people to support me.
